Equitable Climate Futures

Climate and Energy Policy & Economy

Designing mitigation strategies, public health solutions, adaptive disaster responses, and sustainable economies.

Brown, especially through IBES and the Watson Institute, has existing strengths in carbon mitigation policies and practices at local to international scales, climate-related disaster relief and national security, and indigenous knowledge.

ECF will leverage these strengths to:

  • Co-design mitigation and adaptation policies that leverage the resonance across local, regional, national, and international scales.
  • Co-develop public health solutions to key impacts, focusing on at risk communities.
  • Plan for adaptive disaster response with industry and defense partners.
  • Co-create sustainable solutions economies that are centered around climate, human health and well-being.
