ECF's Working Groups and Postdoctoral Fellowships are aimed at advancing innovative, transdisciplinary research that advances climate solutions, broadly defined, driven by stakeholder needs and priorities, with a focus on under-resourced and historically marginalized groups. Researchers and experts from community organizations, government, and/or industry co-create climate research projects that advance the creation of equitable solutions.
The first cohort of ECF’s Working Groups were awarded in 2025 and marked a key step in advancing community-driven, interdisciplinary climate research at Brown.
Each working group has been co-created with stakeholders from under-resourced and historically marginalized groups, addressing locally defined priorities and needs. These inaugural groups reflect ECF’s commitment to scalable, equity-centered climate solutions, and they represent just the beginning. Future cohorts will continue expanding this community-engaged approach to climate research.
